SKI BEN EOIN
**FAMILY SKI DAY**
To be honest I don't think Matt was too impressed with the whole idea but he was a sport and went along with the plan.
Standing there was the easy part....
Kohl was feeling the same way.
Trinity was excited and ready to go...
Let the lessons begin
Jay was off on his own....not hanging around for the lessons this year
First up.....Blake

Now it's time to learn to stand up while going down the hill
Matt may have been frustrated but he didn't give up....

That rope pull ....(I hate it) it is impossible but the kids handled it very well.
Video of Blake going up the bunny hill.
Now it's time to learn to stand up while going down the hill
(Sarah and Thomas...instructors...were awesome with the kids)
(now I do have to say that I honestly didn't think Trinity would make it to this point. I found her sitting on a bench during the lessons. She was in tears and didn't want to ski anymore..I mean 20 minutes in skiing. I sat and talked to her than realized that her problem wasn't the skiing but her feet hurt. Well we finally found the problem...it was her boots, they were too tight. Once the problem was taken care of she took right off)
Video below is one of Kohl's first runs down the bunny hill.
Great job Kohl!
What a face....
This is the face I got from Blake when I asked him if he was ready for his first run down the hill.
lol gotta love that face!
it wasn't long before he could control his skies enough to turn...
and STOP
Jay on the bunny hill ?
Smooth sailing for Kohl...
I did make it on some runs with Jay throughout the day...

video....Blake, we were told that he was too young. He didn't catch on to the lessons very well and I guess couldn't get the concept of keeping his skies pointing like a pizza slice and of course stopping was a big issue....and.... we only had lessons for so long. His instructor said that he needs hand on instruction but within a couple of years would be ready;.....
Jay giving 2 thumbs up!
So after some big tears from Trinity and Kohl. Matt took the kids and headed home for showers, supper and cuddle time with a movie!

Video..Kohl taking on the orange cones...
Video.... Trinity ready to leave the bunny hill
she graduated to the bigger slopes!
Here he is getting ready to go down the lower redtail hill. A bit more advanced
(subs, sandwiches, chips, pop, water, crackers and bars... a bit of everything)
Partridge Pass here she comes!
I tell you this girl can ski!
and of course....
nobody was ready to go....
soooooo....
We stayed for another 3 hours!
a quick minute for drinks and back to it!
well after some time alone on the hill with Matt, Blake can now ski....turning and stopping.
In the end he was going up and down the hill on his own!
Matt slowly improving....
but again he still hasn't given up!
and here goes Kohl...
video...Kohl and Matt
What is this??????
Blake finally looks like he is having fun! He is fearless.
This was his last run down the hill.
Down time with his DSi
We took both vehicles so that I could stay even later with Jay...just the 2 of us.
By time Kohl and Trinity were finished it was dark but the hills were well lit and we had fun...although a bit tired to be tackling the big hills.
I think he looks a bit scared....
No I don't think soooo, he had waited patiently all day to get to the big hills.
Great night pictures on the hill...
and boy after a long day skiing AND teaching the kids to ski....I am going to feel it in the morning.
WE DIDN'T THINK WE COULD TRUST OUR TIRED, SORE LEGS TO GET US SAFELY DOWN THE HILLS.
(the kids all want there own ski helmet and goggles for next year and a season ski pass for all. I am with them on this one!!!!)
