Back to the hills

Today it was back to the hills, it started out as a girls only trip for Trin and Carrie to celebrate their birthdays with a one on one trip. After a few hours on the hills they decided to invite us over as they had filled their frequent rider cards and by the looks of the weather there was a concern that Carrie and I wouldn't be able to make it back for our free day. I packed up the boys and we headed out to join them, now keep in mind it was 16 degrees and sunny by 1 in the afternoon so I was debating with Jay on the way over if we should have been wearing shorts. The hills were perfect for learning new runs on as they were a bit slower than normal with the melting snow. Trin had graduated to the chair lift runs with Carrie in the morning...

... and Kohl wasn't far behind once we got there, he looks pretty happy here, we got new helmets for the boys to match Jays as his fits so much better than their other ones did. The others will go back or get used for sledding.

Here is the view from the upper red tail

With it so warm out it was time for a break

There was an outdoor concert just behind us so we got to listen to some good musicians playing

These 3 stuck together like glue, there is no fighting out on the slopes, probably why we all enjoy going so much.

Blake was having fun in the slush and made a few good runs he was getting better on the lift, I think he only fell off once today

Blake was finished sking around 6 so I headed home with him, with one minor stop at the DQ for ice cream while Carrie and the kids continued on into the evening skiing

The hills were getting pretty slushy by the end of the day, but they intend to keep the slopes open 1 more week, good luck to them on that.
