Awesome Field Trip

Trinity had here year end field trip and I got volunteered to help chaperone again this year.
We started off on our full day tour of some of Cape Breton's hot spots at 830 am and returned home at 830pm a long day for sure.

Our first stop was at a very old church and cemetary along the side of the road, when we got back on the bus I realized the days trends, sugar and lots of it. The kids had a great big cupcake when they got off the bus and when they got back on the Sucker bowl went through the bus.

Our next stop was at teh Margaree Fish Hatchery, this was pretty cool spot and here are some of the baby trout that we got to see. One tank had over 100000 brook trout in it

Outside were the tanks of salmon, these were very large fish, made me think of BBQ Salmon, yum.

Trin got to feed the salmon and they went wild when the food hit the surface, one time the fish actually splashed up water on Trin

Leading down to the Margaree River

Here's Trin on the edge of the River, getting ready to release some baby trout into the water

Back inside it was time to take a lunch break and guess what more sugar as the Cookie container did the rounds.

After lunch we were back on the bus and off to the Margaree Harbor Beach, the kids weren't long running down to the beach.

Then it was back onto the bus and off to the ancient catholic church in Cheticamp, this church is huge and there is so much very intricate woodwork done in this church.

Now the day wasn't done yet we went off to a history museum that had lots of items to look at and a demonstration of how they did rug hooking.

This was a massive example of the work that was done, that's not a painting but a giant hooked rug, probably 8X12'

Then we were off to the next stop at the Cabot Trail information centre for a video and tour and then outside to the play park for some fun.

Before we got on the road back home we went to Mr. Chicken for supper and icecream it was delicious. Then it was time to head home, I got to listen to the girls sing top 20 songs for 2 hours, then about 10 minutes from home Trin said she was tired and fell asleep on me. A super day for us, very special to be allowed to go again, can't wait until next year.
